Gerald R. Ford Presidential $1 Coins Released

The sale of U.S. Mint’s 38th Presidential $1 Coin began on 8th March. This issue is a commemorative coin featuring Gerald Ford who served as President of the United States from 1974 to 1977.Presidential dollars were introduced in 2007 and earlier this year the Mint introduced a dollar featuring Richard Nixon. Later in July, the 2016 Ronald Reagan Presidential $1 Coin would be released which would mark the end of the program.
The obverse is designed by Phebe Hemphill which bears a portrait design of President Ford. Other inscriptions include ‘GERALD R. FORD’, ‘38TH PRESIDENT’, ‘1974-1977’ and ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. The reverse features Don Everhart’s design of the Statue of Liberty.
